Middle School Praise Band

Date/Time: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday nights
Comments: This group of talented students is the beginning level of the praise band. Many of the students are just learning how to play a new instrument. This group is designed to be a feeder program for the main Youth Praise Band. As students graduate from high school and leave the praise band, the middle school students will fill in where they are needed.
Youth Praise Band

Age of Participation: 9th through 12th grade, adult musicians
Meeting Place: Lounge of Education Building
Date/ Time: Practice Wednesday night- Play each 8:45 Sunday Service
Comments: The Youth Praise Band is an exciting and important part of the Early Morning Worship service atFUMC Amory. The band plays contemporary Christian music during the service and provides a modern approach to worship. While the Youth Praise Band is composed primarily of youth, we also have adult members as well. We encourage anyone who is interested in auditioning for the Youth Praise Band to contact director Brian Gillentine.
Thanksgiving Feast

Meeting place: GymDate/Time: Sunday before Thanksgiving
Comment: The youth and parents prepare a Thanksgiving feast for the church congregation on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This is a major fund-raiser which provides funding to assist our youth with the cost of their trips and activities. The meal usually consists of turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, rolls, and home made desserts.
Senior/Graduation Brunch

Date/Time: day of Baccalaureate Service
Comments: Our church honors our graduating seniors with a breakfast or brunch on their Baccalaureate Service Sunday. We provide a guest speaker who presents a message to our senior class. We also invite our junior class to participate.

Comments: Our church family participates in several seasonal activities such as preschool Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Carnival or activity, and Christmas Caroling. These activities are wonderful ways for the church to work together in fellowship while providing a special memory for the children!
