Comments: The purpose of the Missions Committee is to minister to God’s people within our local church, our community, our state, our nation, and the world in order to do the work of Jesus. We accomplish this mission through our many outreach efforts, which include activities for all age groups. The youth participate each year with the Lizzie Cooper Mission in Jackson, MS. It has been a true blessing to not only the inner city youth who visit the mission but also to the youth of our church as they show the love of Jesus Christ. The Mission Committee is also involved with the Amory Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, and the Soup Kitchen Ministry here at the FUMC. Many in our community who are in need have been touched by one of these ministries. They have each been a
blessing to our community. Members of the Mission Committee have also been involved with the cleanup and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina.
